If you are participating in National Novel Writing Month by the 26th of November you will be swiftly running out of days to reach that 50,000 word target. Have no fear, come write with us for a couple of hours and see the progress you can make! There is limited availability so please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
National Novel Writing Month is upon us, so join us on Friday November 15th from 10AM-6PM. There will be a take over of the Hoyt Reading Lounge for a day long Write-In. Bring your laptops, your pens and paper; we'll be plugging away at that word count all day long in the distractingly scenic "Hemicycle" in the Burnham-Hoyt Room where the windows look out onto Civic Center Park. The view is great for inspiration or simply procrastination.
We'll be doing sprints throughout the day, so come on down and have some fun writing with us!
Founded in 1859 and situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder's small size harbors a big-city feel, and its rich past hides plenty of hair-raising lore. A home in the Newlands is said to be haunted by a previous owner who was displeased with remodeling done on his longtime abode, while a small Victorian on Pearl Street has been plagued by strange events for over a century. Guests at one hotel might be surprised by the number of mysteries wrapped around the building, and local spirits have a standing reservation at a popular restaurant that was once a mortuary.
The attendees from the October meeting selected a book that many of them were interested in reading for this month’s meeting. Those who chose otherwise are still welcome to bring in a book of their choice to share and discuss with the rest of the group. We are meeting with yummy snacks and lots of discussion about the books that we read this month. If you hated a book, bring that, too! We are a place of open and non-judgmental discussion about books and genuinely wish to encourage a love of reading. Open to ages 11-15.
Meeting every fourth Saturday of the month in the basement Community Room.
