Molina Speaks: Surrealist and Blackout Poetry Workshop/Taller de poesía surrealista y blackout

Books Authors and Writing
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

SPECIAL TEENS-ONLY SESSION (Grades 6-12):
Artist Adrian Molina will guide youth in surrealist and blackout poetry. Youth will explore ideas of “realism” and “surrealism,” surrealist art, and students create weird poetry from unexpected places. In blackout poetry, a minimalist form of poetry, youth use sharpies or markers to black out words on newspapers, book pages, or handouts. Instead of creating something out of nothing, youth work with the art of deconstruction. The lesson is finding a story within a story.
