Please visit any Denver Public Library location to register for a library card or register for a temporary card here.
Online Library Card Registration Guidelines
Welcome to our Online Library Card Registration. To complete your registration, you will need to show both photo identification and verification of your address.
*Colorado State DL or ID is preferred, but we accept out-of-state DLs or IDs until you can obtain Colorado identification. |
If your current address is not listed on your photo identification, please bring one of the following documents:
|
- Additional identification that verifies your identity and residence may be acceptable. Please consult a library staff member for additional information.
- The Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) is a state program for survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses and stalking who fear for their safety. The ACP helps survivors keep their addresses confidential after they have relocated to escape possible or former abusers. DPL will accept a substitute address reflected on an ACP authorization card carried by participants as proof of address when registering for a Library card. For more information, please see www.acp.colorado.gov
- Applicants under 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a library card.
- A temporary library card number will be issued to you after successfully completing the online registration form (see below).
- Upon receipt, this number will allow you to access our information databases (for Denver residents only) and request materials by placing holds. This number will not allow you to download or place holds on eBooks or audio eBooks.
- You have 28 days from the time you submit the application to pick up your card.
- After completing the online form, you must read and accept the Statement of Responsibility. Once you have clicked the Accept button, your application will be processed.
Please select and complete the appropriate library card application from the choices below.
