LEGO® Building Contest Judging Rescheduled for March 30

The Building Contest Judging has been rescheduled for:

Saturday, March 30, 2 p.m.
Central Library, Level 7 Vida Ellison Gallery

The winners will be announced at 3 p.m. There will also be fun activities across the hall in the Level 7 Meeting Room!

If you need additional information, please contact the branch where you entered the contest.

The theme of the 2013 contest was Building Books.

Participants chose a favorite book and made a LEGO® design based on a scene, character or even the cover of the book! Entries were accepted in four categories: Preschool-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, 6th-12th grade or Family.

What time should participants arrive at the library on the 30th?

Participants should arrive at 2 p.m. with their Lego design. The judges will look everything over and make their decisions by 3 p.m. During the judging you can participate in the activities happening across the hall or look around the Library.

My son won 1st prize for his entry at the local branch for the preschool to 2nd grade category. we too will be out if town for spring break on 3/30. He was so excited and looking forward to the central library competition. Is it possible for us to have his aunt or grandparents submit his entry for the judging on 3/30? Thanks.

Do you know if the Jim Gill's concert (http://denverlibrary.org/jim-gills-family-room-tour) is going to be rescheduled too? It was also cancelled due to the snow storm but it looked so fun.

Bummer! That is the second Saturday of Denver Public School Spring break--we will be out of town. I imagine many others will be out of town as well?

Do you know if notification is being sent to participants? My children participated in this but we haven't heard anything since we dropped off the entry. Does that mean anything?

We're sorry you won't be able to make it! Unfortunately, that was the date the room was available and rescheduling would mean the event could be several weeks later.

Participants should have been notified. It may mean that the entries were not selected as finalists. Can you tell me where you turned in your entry, which Branch?

We missed the event because we were out of town. Where/when do we pick up the legos?
