Colorado Author Series 2009

All events will be at the Schlessman Family Branch Library. The authors will discuss their books, the writing process, answer questions and will have books available to sell and sign. No registration required. Free and open to the public.
	Saturday, September 19, 11 a.m. Ann Ripley is the author of ten mystery novels. Her latest is Death in the Orchid Garden.
	Saturday, September 26, 2 p.m. Bill Vidal is the author of the highly acclaimed memoir Boxing for Cuba: An Immigrant’s Story of Despair, Endurance, & Redemption.
	Saturday, October 3, 2 p.m. Wick Downing has authored ten novels, three for young readers. His latest, The Trials of Kate Hope, is about a teen-age girl who, through a wrinkle in the law, becomes a lawyer. Set in Denver in 1973, Kate goes to Hill Middle School.
	Wednesday, November 4, 6:30 p.m. Kate Lawrence is the author of The Practical Peacemaker: How Simple Living Makes Peace Possible.
	Saturday, November 7, 11 a.m. Bonnie Garcia, Susie Martinez, and Vanda Howell authors of Don’t Panic, Dinner’s in the Freezer: Great Tasting Meals You Can Make Ahead and Don’t Panic, More Dinner’s in the Freezer. Samples will be served!
	Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. Jennie Shortridge’s When She Flew, coming in November, will be highlighted along with her three previous well-reviewed novels. Ms. Shortridge will also talk about the writing process.
	Wednesday, November 18, 6:30 p.m. Jennifer Olson photographer of Colorado Organic: Cooking Seasonally, Eating Locally.
	Saturday, November 21, 11 a.m. Marty Meitus, former food editor of the Rocky Mountain News, will share tales of yumminess from her book Recipe Please: Favorite Recipes from Colorado Restaurants.
	Saturday, December 5, 2 p.m. John Porcellino, a long-time Denver comics artist (King-Cat Comics), discusses his twenty-year history of self-publishing, as well as his new book collection Map of My Heart.
