July is Park and Recreation Month!

Park and Recreation Month 2014

Go outside and have some fun!

Colorado has loads of parks for you to visit this summer and Denver Public Library has great resources for supplementing your trip.

Denver Public Library has books on specific parks like Mesa Verde and Rocky Mountain National or read about a variety in National Geographic Kids National Parks Guide U.S.A.

Green Eggs and Ham You May Actually Be Willing To Eat

Yum!

For me, sharing books and sharing food with friends and family is about as good as it gets. Last month for Dr. Seuss's birthday a coworker brought in green eggs and ham - made of snack foods. It was amazing! There were delicious snacks to eat while we reminisced about our childhood memories of reading Seuss. It was so good I went home and made my own batch.

Do it yourself!

Ingredients: White Chocolate or Almond Bark, Pretzel Sticks and Green M&M's.

Play Areas at a Glance

It’s cold out! How about a nice spot to play indoors?

Many of Denver Public Library’s locations have designated play areas or play-times for children to enjoy.

Playing helps children build vocabulary, develop verbal communication, and think symbolically all while having fun. Check out how beneficial play can be for your little one.
