Celebrate Denver Days, August 2-10

Believing that strong communities create a stronger city, Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock is proud to launch Denver Days, a new citywide effort to help neighbors get to know each other and get involved with their communities by throwing block parties, organizing service projects and hosting neighborhood activities.

Several Denver Public Library branch locations will participate in this year’s celebration:

Thursday, July 31, 6 p.m.
Pauline Robinson Branch Library
Colorado author and historian Tom “Dr. Colorado” Noel will present a lecture and slideshow on Denver’s Streetcar neighborhoods with a focus on Northeast Denver.

Saturday, Aug. 2, 10 a.m.
Eugene Field Branch Library
Colorado author and historian Tom “Dr. Colorado” Noel will present a lecture and slideshow on Denver’s Streetcar neighborhoods with a focus on South Denver.

Wednesday, Aug. 6, 6 p.m.
Virginia Village Branch Library
Colorado author and historian Tom “Dr. Colorado” Noel will present a lecture and slideshow on Denver’s Streetcar neighborhoods with a focus on Cherry Creek.

Thursday, Aug. 7, 2 p.m.
Schlessman Family Branch Library
Celebrate the Schlessman community with an Ice Cream Extravaganza! Free and open to the public.

Friday, Aug. 8, 1-2:30 p.m.
Decker Branch Library
Join the staff at Decker Branch Library for an end of Summer of Reading Summer Social! The library celebrates the end of our successful Summer of Reading program with special activities for the whole family. Join us for games, prizes, crafts, and soda refreshments.

Saturday, Aug. 9, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
West Colfax Neighborhood Festival

Enjoy food, music, games and contests. DPL will be on hand to register residents for library cards and share information about our newest branch library, the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch scheduled to open later this year.

2nd Annual Montbello Green Valley Ranch Unity Celebration BBQ

Free to the community with fun, vendors, entertainment and plenty of food.

Is Mary going to sing? I would SCREAM if she did! I LOVE her!!! I had an opportunity to hear her sing at Jazz at Jacks! We danced together to one of the shuffles!!! WONDERFUL WOMAN!!! CONGRATS to DENVER! Enjoy the week!
