The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson
Great choices! My own additions - I thought Broken Harbor was one of the best mysteries of the year. Also loved The Newlyweds by Freudenberger and the Middlesteins by Attenberg.
I really liked Broken Harbor, too!
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn--loved it!
I've only read one book on this list. Can't wait to try your faves!
Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt
The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving by Jonathan Evison
