Intrigued by thrift store shopping and saving, but don't know where to start? Michelle from Shop My Closet will get you started! Learn how to incorporate thrift stores into your regular shopping rotation, and even get to try out your skills! Saturday, February 2, 1-3 p.m. at the Ross-Broadway Branch Library. Celebrate love by making a Hand Sewn Plush Felt Heart! Saturday, February 2 2-4 p.m. at the Sam Gary Branch or Saturday, February 9, 3-5 p.m. at the Bear Valley Branch. Please register by calling the branch or emailing fclmybranch@denverlibrary.org.

Our first program in partnership with The Colorado Ballet's Light Project is on Monday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Schlessman: Celebrate Jewish Cooking. Monica Kadillak will share recipes and samples of some traditional Jewish dishes--both everyday and holiday. Celebrate your own heritage or come to honor the culture that brought us this food.

Lincoln Log Throwdown--In honor of President's Day, we challenge you to a Lincoln Log building contest! Fastest time wins a sweet treat donated by The Shoppe! Sunday, February 10 at 2 p.m. at Schlessman or Saturday, February 23 at 2 p.m. at Smiley. Come compete, or just to cheer on the contestants!

Another Light Project event: Living with a Compassionate Heart: Introduction to Compassionate Communication. When we transform the way we communicate, we transform our world.  Learn & practice fundamentals of Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication, i.e.  empathy for self and others and everyone’s needs matter. With Susan Kaplan, M.S.W., M.P.A., Accredited Facilitator, Rocky Mountain Center for Compassionate Communication. Saturday, February 9, 1:30 - 3:30  p.m. at Schlessman.
