Denver Comic Con is just around the corner and it’s time to get ready! Comfortable shoes? Check. Snacks and bottled water? Check. Boba Fett costume? Check. But are you mentally prepared? There are dozens of artists, writers, and experts scheduled to attend. How will you keep it all straight? We’ve got you covered with all sorts of resources to help you get the most out of your Comic Con experience.

Follow these links to our catalog so you can check out comic books and graphic novels created by many of Denver Comic Con’s guest artists and writers:

While you’re learning about the guest artists, don’t forget to take a look at Colorado author Carrie Vaughn (After the Golden Age and the Kitty Norville series), who will also be at the DCC. Or you could check out Wil Wheaton’s autobiography or hear his recent work as narrator for the audio version of Ernest Cline’s fantastic novel Ready Player One.

Other Comic Con guests include several cast members from The Walking Dead, James Marsters (Eureka, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer), Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Jasika Nicole (Fringe), and producer/author Michael Uslan (executive producer of The Dark Knight and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises). You’ll also see voice actors and animators from such animated series as Ben-10, Futurama, Gargoyles, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Young Justice.

Signed up for Manga U? Get a head start on your training with books on Manga drawing techniques.

And whether you’re participating in the associated Rocky Mountain Conference on Comics and Graphic Novels or just want to brush up on your knowledge of comics in general, you’ll find some great resources here.

Why are we so excited about Denver Comic Con? (Other than all of the above?) In addition to all the fun guests and activities, the Comic Con benefits Comic Book Classroom, a Denver-based non-profit organization that provides free literacy and arts education to at-risk and under-served students in grades 5-8. Ticket sales help to fund this great program.

Which part of the Comic Con are you most looking forward to?

I'm simply looking forward to being at a Comic Con! This will be my first, and I'm elated that it's practically in my own neighborhood.
Same here! Looks like it's shaping up to be an exciting event. Thanks for reading!
Doesn't look like they're on the schedule, but you never know who might show up at a con. Here's a link to the DCC page listing scheduled tv and film guests: http://www.denvercomiccon.com/category/2012-guests/tv-film
I'm looking forward to meeting cast members from 'Eureka' and other shows!! Is the cast from 'Being Human U.S.' going to be there too?
