Calling all knitters and crocheters. Fresh City Life is having a summer sale on all in-stock yarns. Our selection of yarns will be discounted from 20-30% off. And selected closeout yarns will be reduced to half price. It's a wonderful opportunity for crafters to grow their yarn stash a bit just before the autumn weather sparks an increase in knitting cold weather accessories and seasonal gifts.

Fresh City Life Yarn Sale, July 7-31

You'll find all the great yarn in our Fresh City Lounge, located near the west entrance of the Central Library. Look for the French doors. We'll have open hours on Monday 1-8p and Friday 1-6p. If you would like to come in at another time to look at the yarns, please send an email to events@denverlibrary.org and we'll arrange a time for you to check out the lounge.

All sales benefit Fresh City Life programming and events.

Last year when you announced your yarn sale I went down one day when it was posted that there would be someone there. The doors were locked. I waited a while, the guards there at the back acted confused and didn't have any idea why the shop was unattended. Some one called and 25 minutes later a very very rude person came and let me in: then when I wanted to purchase some yarn she excused herself and went to the phone and spent 10 more minutes taking before she decided to take pity on me and take my money. I love the library, especially the Central Library but I was so rattled and upset by my negative, negative experience that I very seldom come down now, even just for books. I cannot stress enough how very unpleasant the person there was.

Hi Misha,
I'm sorry that you had a bad experience at Denver Public Library. If you'd like to contact me, I'd be happy to make an appointment with you to check out the yarns that are on sale in the the Fresh City Lounge now. It is possible that the person waiting on you was unfamiliar with the sale and the room and didn't know how to handle it. That is no excuse for rudeness! I'm often pulled away from the room for meetings or other events. Though I wish we could have more dedicated open hours for the FCLounge, we do have special open hours in the lounge for this sale: Monday 2-8p and Friday 1-6p through July 31. Hope you'll come back to the library - lots of good books, good things and great people here!
