84th Academy Award Nominations

It's officially Oscar season again and, like every year, there are some suprises and disappointments in the nominations.

Oscar nomination favorites like David Fincher, Clint Eastwood and George Clooney found themselves shut out (for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, J Edgar and The Ides of March) and the Academy ignored the more popular choices (Bridesmaids, the final Harry Potter and Dragon Tattoo again).

I work in the Outreach department at the Licking County Library near Columbus , OH. We are actually doing a great promotion to celebrate the Oscars. Were asking patrons to guess which film is going to win Best Picture. From those who enter we are giving away 2 tickets to the Best Picture Showcase at the AMC theatres in Columbus. Plus those who picked correctly they will go into a 2nd drawing for a DVD copy of the Best Picture for 2012. Gotta love the Oscars!!
