El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes) is a suspenseful Argentinian film that is not only beautifully filmed, but also superbly acted. If you're not someone who looks forward to happy endings, but are more the type who appreciates a film in which there can be no happy ending, El secreto de sus ojos might be right up your alley.

Día de los Muertos

The Day of the Dead, a celebration originating in Mexico, occurs in connection with the religious holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, on November 2. November 1 is also known as Día de los Inocentes, Day of the Innocents, for remembrance of deceased infants and children, also called angelitos, the little angels.

In addition to the documentary, Food for the Ancestors, the library has several books that shed light on this festive holiday.

All books listed are printed with both Spanish and English text.

Trilogies: The Return of the List

What's your favorite trilogy? A great trilogy not only needs to begin well, but should avoid the curse of the shoddy sequel. As we have seen time and time again, 3 is a Magic Number. And the list goes on! There are so many more to name. This is certainly becoming ... a trilogy!

The Community Technology Center just keeps on growing!

If you haven't been to the Central Library's fourth level in the last week or so, come up and check out the ever-expanding Community Technology Center -- we've grown again!  On Wednesday thirty more public computers, complete with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2007, were booted up and made ready for public use.  We now have 20 computers for 2-hour sessions; 24 computers for 1-hour sessions; and 8 computers for 30-minute sessions.  It will be a while before our classrooms are available for group lessons again, but we are still offering
